What Should I Eat Tonight?

What to have tonight? It's getting warm again so you can't be doing with anything too heavy, but you still want something that is filling. Sushi is out because cooking that is complicated and fish and chips is simple but also expensive (have you seen how much cod costs?!). We all know that cooking in these modern times is difficult enough without having to shell out a considerable amount of money, so here's what you should make for dinner tonight:

Tilapia with a side of broccoli! This child-friendly menu* is a great, super easy and rather affordable choice actually, all things considered. You can get a box of them at Publix for like EIGHT DOLLARS WITH EIGHT FISH IN IT.

I know, right?
What do I need?

Some tilapia and some broccoli. Green veggies are best, but you can also have some tinned corn or even a potato salad.

How do I do it?

Okay, cooking fish is straightforward but, like anything, you will fuck it up if you are not careful. Put a pan on the stove with a little bit of oil in, medium heat, until it has spread everywhere. Put the fish on it, hover over it while worrying, turn it around. Flip it around halfway through, stare at it, hope it's okay. The process will take you a little less than ten minutes depending on how high your heat is. Do not put your heat up too high or you risk burning your fish.

Put some lime on your fish, serve with vegetables and other garnish and gobble it down!

What Should I Eat Tonight?

Tonight on the menu... the trusted spud! You are having an absolutely low effort, super easy, extremely quick, designed for the lazy meal. If you are like a super serious cook, you can put your spud in the oven for like an hour and get it all nice and brown.

Or you can just wash it, fork it to death, put it in the microwave and hope that it cooks evenly. Personally, I always go for the second option! There is something so delicious about so little effort. In all seriousness, the jacket potato is a super great and easy meal choice.

A potato can take you anywhere from five minutes to a couple of hours, depending on your level of commitment. Obviously the amount of effort you put in depends entirely on your schedule.

How do you make a jacket potato?
Really?

Take the potato. Wash the potato. Put the potato in microwave. The best methods for making jacket potatoes are hotly debated topics by chefs all around the world. Aluminium keeps your potatoes hot until they are ready to eat. If you are super lucky, you may even get your own lights show (but it's totally super rare, don't worry.)

What do I put on the jacket potato?

It depends! Are you feeling supremely lazy? Leftovers of marinated mince can make a super awesome topping, but you may only want to go for cheese. The meal will still be quite filling and starchy even without a protein, but don't deprive yourself. The strength of potato lies in how versatile it is, so remember, put whatever you want on it until it works (I would skip desserts though)

On the menu tonight is a whatever jacket potato with a side salad with no dressing. Enjoy your super classy totally fit for a dinner party dinner tonight!
